Automatic water treatment for private pools by salt electrolysis
For an always balanced salt pool without chemicals
Since 2014, the AKERON brand has been designing, manufacturing, and distributing salt electrolysis and regulation solutions that cater to all pool configurations. Our range includes a complete selection of options, models, and power levels to treat and regulate pool water.
We continuously improve each generation of electrolyzers to bring the best technologies to the market. Available in both low and high salinity versions, they adapt to all configurations with a full range of options, models, and power levels.
Our brand Akeron, a benchmark in the private pool industry, joined BIO-UV Group in 2021.

Operation of salt electrolysis
When electricity passes through the plates, salt molecules are separated. The chlorine ions formed react with water to create sodium hypochlorite, a powerful disinfectant that eliminates bacteria, viruses, and algae present in the pool water. Once its action is complete, it transforms back into salt, thus closing the cycle. The gaseous hydrogen produced is released into the air, while hydroxide ions help maintain the water’s pH at an optimal level.
Benefits of salt electrolysis water treatment
-
Reduced environmental impact
This system generates chlorine from the salt dissolved in water. This reduces the handling and storage of potentially hazardous chemicals.
-
Improved comfort for swimmers
Water treated with salt electrolysis is generally milder for the skin and eyes. It causes less irritation and does not have the strong odor characteristic of chlorine.
-
Simplified maintenance
They require less daily maintenance compared to traditional chlorination systems. They automate a large part of the disinfection process, reducing the frequency of manual interventions.
-
Reduced environmental impact
Salt electrolysis can be considered a more environmentally friendly option. Salt is a more abundant and less toxic resource for the environment.

AKERON SALT range
Our salt electrolysis solutions are grouped under the AKERON SALT family. Available in both low and high salinity versions, they adapt to all configurations with a full range of options, models, and power levels.
AKERON REGUL range
The AKERON REGUL range features regulators that complement the salt chlorinator. They ensure a consistently optimal pH and Redox level with secure and user-friendly operation.
